May update

Tex's 2nd month has been full of fun and love. In the past four weeks he has learned to grip things with his hands. He especially likes to hold onto my fancy Mardi Gras necklace while eating. He has also started smiling and laughing. He is a happy boy ("as happy as Larry", in fact) - somedays he even smiles and laughs when he first wakes up. He has thus earned the nickname "Larry" from Matt and me.

We attended our first play group through the Shalom Baby program at the JCC. It was wonderful to meet so many other mommies and babies in our area. We also attended a Mommy & Me movie. Texas slept through most of it. Auntie Dana came with us to dinner - it was our first time in a real restaurant!

It's hard to believe that Texas is already 8-weeks old. Looking back at pictures from early April makes us realize how much he's grown - in length, weight, and cuteness. We are hiding him from the fuzz because we think it must be illegal to be this cute!!!

Here are some pictures from the month of May. Enjoy!

Love & Matt

I'm a silly monkey, especially with my friend Nova de Lovely.

This is the first time I slept in my cowboy crib. I was zonked! (Here lies proof that he is definitely his father's son!)

Visits with Auntie Helen and the Mah Jong ladies.

Auntie Andrea sent me this adorable doggie hat. Woof!

Check out this fabulous "iPood" shirt from Auntie Cheri...

And look at this fabulous outfit from Jim and his family. Check out that tush!!!

Some photos from our garden of earthly delight. These roses were selected by Mom Z.

Here we are with our favorite neighbors, Julia (mommy) and Sofia (12-months).

Introspective...

Smiley...

On the verge of tears...

Daddy is crazy.

Finally, here I am with Daddy and Mommy in my TFZ shirt from Chris, Jennie, and Margie. The letters are in gold lame'. Isn't it FIERCE!

My cousin's birthday

Texas's cousins, Benjamin and Max, live in Los Angeles. Both of them were born in the month of May. This year Max turned 2 and Benjamin turned 4. Texas took his first road trip to LA on the 18th to attend Max's party.

Lots of boys and girls were there, in addition to many old friends and Goodman family members. Even Mami' and Great-Grandma Gladys were able to attend! Max was a gracious host and we all had a great time. Texas was the youngest one there and didn't enjoy the bouncy castle or playhouse along with everyone else. But, everyone enjoyed meeting him and he looked adorable in his cool Hawaiian outfit.

Here are a few pictures from that day.

Enjoy!

Love

The boys will be the next American Idols with their new synthesizer, one of Max's best gifts at the party.

My first Mother's Day

My first Mother's day was wonderful. Matt and Texas made me feel like a queen.

The day started off with breakfast: Sausages and biscuits, which I had been craving throughout my pregnancy. Yum!

Then we went to the beach. It was Tex's first time seeing the great Pacific ocean. Unfortunately, he slept through most of our walk.

Then we joined Grandma Star and Great-Grandma Gladys for a BBQ in El Cajon. Four generations of Marcos/Slipocks/Zubillers in one room - wow!

Overall, it was a wonderful day. But every day is Mother's Day around here. I'm so lucky to have a boy like Texas and a husband like Matt in my life. (And Piccadilly, too!)

xo,
Love
