A day at the museum

Texas and I went to the New Children's Museum in San Diego today. Guess what. . . they have paint. Lots of it! Our experience in the painting room has led me to believe that Texas may end up being the artist of the family. They also had a giant Trojan horse, rooms full of pillows, bubbles, and a giant inflatable rainbow tube. We had a blast. And then we came straight home and took a bath!

Texas builds a house, part 2

Lots has happened at our place in the past few weeks. The back end of the house was completely demolished. A cement truck came and laid foundation. We passed a number of inspections. The framing is going up. The port-o-potty is still here. I have a lovely view of it from my office.

We also decided to extend Tex's old room by 2 ft, which will give us an extra 20 sq ft overall. The room is decreasing considerably in size, so anything will help. Unfortunately, we have to go through the permitting process once again.

As for the interior, we are still working on matching the new flooring to the original 1919 wood floors. Our oven hood arrived and it is beautifying the front yard by hanging out on our porch. We selected tons of bathroom fixtures, too. Shopping is fun! Paying for it is not.

Here are some pictures of the latest. Enjoy!

This is the truck that picks up and replaces our dumpster each week at 7am. It is very loud. Our neighbors love us.

This is the toilet that I always hated:

Anniversary VI

We celebrated our 6th anniversary at home in San Diego. It was a wonderful weekend. It started off with a joint anniversary and birthday celebration for Samantha at Savannah Grill. All three boys had a great time. On Saturday we went to the Chula Vista Nature Center and saw lots of tiger sharks. That night Daddy took us to a new restaurant La Focaccia for dinner. The pizza was delicioso!

On Sunday morning, Daddy took us on a surprise trip to the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel for a buffet breakfast. Texas especially enjoyed the Fruit Loops. We also had a lovely walk around the grounds and relived lots of wonderful memories from one of the best days of our lives.

On the way home we stopped at the Scripps Birch Aquarium. What a beautiful place! Texas loved watching the jellyfish and other creatures in the moonlit tanks. We spent that evening with our neighbors, Malcolm and Marion, who made an incredible chicken and dumpling dinner for us.

Overall, it was a great anniversary.
