Comic-Con 2009 was four days of larger-than-life pop culture booths, celebrity encounters, and full-on sensory overload. It is a sold-out, multi-media extravaganza. Each year over 125,000 attendees flock to the San Diego convention center in an overflowing frenzy of horror, animation, video game, and fantasy novel thrills. Nova Bella de Lovely brought Texas and me to the opening night party once again to get a taste of the magic that is unique to Comic-Con.
Did we meet Robert Pattinson at the Twilight booth?
No.
Did we hang out with Imperial Storm Troopers and Jedi Knights at the Star Wars booth?
No.
Did we get Stan Lee's autograph on a vintage X-Men comic book?
No.
What
did we do, you ask?
We played with the trash cans, of course. Here are some highlights of this year's adventure, starting with Tex's favorite part. Enjoy!
Love
Comic-Con trash cans:

Saving the cheerleader and saving the world; Texas and Voltron; Texas and Emily the Strange; giant green swamp dude.

Ugly dolls (they were a big hit because they hang out in trash cans, too).

Saying hello to an Imperial Storm Trooper; giant gold squishy monster thing.

Face of Ronald McDonald, body of Jessica Rabbit, hair of Oompa Loompa... Texas was definitely freaked out by this person.

Texas was chillin' with Lilo and Stitch.

Stargate took Texas a million light years from home.

Finally, here's some vintage footage from last year's Comic-Con, where Texas was featured on the San Diego news.
