Valentine's delight!

We had a great Valentine's day. Mommy made heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast. They were pink and they had loads of chocolate chips in them. We called Grand-Daddee for his birthday. Texas sang happy birthday on the phone. Then we went next door for a Valentine's day playgroup. All of Tex's friends were there: Hannah, Sofia, Jacob, Olivia, Quinn, Nathan, and Maya. Texas passed out Valentines to everyone and ate year's-worth of sweets in a single afternoon. The Swedish pancakes were the best! We also had a visit from Auntie Daner, a treat in itself!

After a quick lunch and afternoon nap, we went to the beach to watch the sunset. We saw the famous green flash just as the sun disappeared. Everyone clapped. We also watched the roller coaster "choo choo" at least ten times as it rattled around the track. Texas managed to eat one more treat before bedtime, a chocolate-dipped rice krispy treat, and then fell fast asleep. It was a great day.

Enjoy these pictures!

My first Mother's Day

My first Mother's day was wonderful. Matt and Texas made me feel like a queen.

The day started off with breakfast: Sausages and biscuits, which I had been craving throughout my pregnancy. Yum!

Then we went to the beach. It was Tex's first time seeing the great Pacific ocean. Unfortunately, he slept through most of our walk.

Then we joined Grandma Star and Great-Grandma Gladys for a BBQ in El Cajon. Four generations of Marcos/Slipocks/Zubillers in one room - wow!

Overall, it was a wonderful day. But every day is Mother's Day around here. I'm so lucky to have a boy like Texas and a husband like Matt in my life. (And Piccadilly, too!)

xo,
