Salt Lick

Tonight we hosted a Texas BBQ at our house. Matt imported authentic BBQ from the Salt Lick just for the occasion. He did a great job on the grill. Austin's own Shiner Bock was the perfect accompaniment. Texas welcomed our neighbors and friends, and everyone had a great time.

We weren't born in Texas, but we got there as soon as we could.

Yep. Yep. Yep. Mmmm-hmmm.

Along with the BBQ and beer,
Matt imported this authentic Austinite, Jason.

Texas enjoys some sweet potato... or is that BBQ sauce?

and how to eat them.

Father's day in San Diego

Matt and Texas enjoyed a wonderful father's day in San Diego. Actually, it was an entire weekend of fun! It started early on Saturday morning with Daddy's first surfing lesson (a gift from Mommy). While Daddy was hanging 10, Mommy hand-washed the car (and felt the aches and pains afterward to prove it!). Then Daddy received a box of See's from Piccadilly. And then the piece de resistance: a hand-painted footprint plate from me!

We spent the weekend around the house, enjoying the wonderful weather. On Sunday afternoon Auntie Daner, Grandma Star, and Grand-Daddee stopped by for a BBQ and the inaugural use of Daddy's new grill. It was a great weekend!

Here are some pictures from that special day. Happy Father's Day!

Love,
Texas
