Texas Fogerty Zubiller is named after the place that Matt and I first met and fell in love (Austin, Texas). He middle name was chosen to honor Matt's maternal grandfather, John "Jack" Brayton Fogerty. His Jewish name, Shalom, honors my paternal grandfather, Sam Slipock, who passed away just before we got pregnant in July 07.An interesting note from Love's Grandma Gladys Marco. As a child, Gladys and her family moved from Chicago to El Paso, TX. It is important to note that Love is named after Gladys' brother, Lester, who was about 12 years old at the time of the move. The family only stayed in El Paso for about a year, but during that time Lester acquired the nickname "Texas". Even after the family returned to Chicago the following year, Lester retained the nickname "Tex". We didn't know this story until Saturday morning (April 5th) when Grandma Gladys came to visit us at the hospital and meet her 6th Great-Grandson for the 1st time.
